The world uses approximately 80 million barrels of oil every day. About 90% of that is produced outside the United States.
America
America uses over 25% of that 80 million, or approximately 20 millions barrels/day. About 12 million of those barrels are imported.
The EU
The entire European Union uses about 19%, or 16 million barrels/day.
The Rest of the World
Nobody else comes close–even China (It consumes 6% of the world’s production and produces about 4%).
Before the invasion of Iraq, President Bush said it was absolutely not about oil. Recently, he also said pulling out of Iraq would let the “radicals” use oil as a weapon.
I’m beginning to think there was a plan all along.
