One in every 100 Americans is in prison. That’s right: one percent of the entire population, 2.3 million and rising, is currently locked away.
Here in Oregon, we spent over $1.2 billion dollars on corrections, more than any other state in the nation. And we’re building prisons as fast as we can fund them.

Cadbury would like to wish you a happy “eco” easter. Their 2008 Easter campaign promises to reduce the amount of plastic packaging used by 247 tons, as well as 115 tons of cardboard.
Unfortunately, they’re closing a 200-year-old UK plant, cutting 500 jobs and moving production to Poland, adding about “7 million food miles.”
