We need new standards of living.
Not based on what technology is capable of providing but, as Wendell Berry says, standards derived from “the nature of places and communities.”
We need new standards of design.
Those standards must place human and ecological health first, always. Not fads, not efficiency, not cost, but health.
This blog is about understanding and finding those new standards, so that we might begin to live and design in a more sane, healthy way.

Hi! I subscribe to your website…got it from Bojack. I went to school with his wife on the reservation in Montana. (She used to date my brother…small world.) My cousin, Tys, is living off the grid in the mountains of Santa Cruz and building an earth house. Right now they are living in a yurt with an earthen oven, etc. So cool. Thought you might like to follow his website. http://www.journeyinthewoods.blogspot.com/
Hope you are having a good day. LaurelAnn
